Lavenda cafe & Galeria perfectly complements the culinary map of Starowiejska Street. This charming and cosy place was created by combining the owner’s three greatest passions – coffee, art and lavender. So you can enjoy excellent quality aromatic coffee and browse through numerous albums about art – painting and architecture, all of that in an ambient interior decorated, of course, with pots of lavender. But Lavenda isn’t only a coffee bar. You can also drop in for lunch during your work break or for a romantic dinner. A simple, seasonal menu is inspired by the Mediterranean cuisine and the dishes are prepared from fresh and organic products. The motto of Lavenda’s cuisine is “light, healthy and tasty”. A great emphasis is placed on healthy food, lettuces and vegetables are supplied by an organic farm, and the kitchen is ruled by the Italian “materia prima” principle – the products are only lightly processed to preserve their original taste. Those who have to watch their weight will be able to order low-calorie meals, and everyone else can enjoy delicious and healthy dishes. Especially popular are baguette with brie cheese and pear and the coffee-and-meringue cake. A wide selection of teas and refreshing lemonade are also worth mentioning.
The interior is small and cozy, decorated in Provencal style. The dominant element is the original brick wall from 1930, accompanied by bleached floors and stylized white furniture. The decor is complemented by flowers and herbs in pots, white baskets, coffee and tea containers, metalwork lamps and a shelf with magazines and art albums. The restaurant is also a mini art gallery, presenting works of young artists from the fields of photography, painting and ceramics.
